MECHANICAL DESIGN
I was raised in an agricultural setting, have always been mechanically-minded and strive to take an analytical approach to all my projects. I think that, in order to be truly efficient when designing and problem-solving, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of how things are made at the ground level. This is why I have invested much of my career expanding my practical manufacturing skills.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
Turning an idea into a reality is the privilege of the designer and the world of design fulfils my enjoyment of problem solving. Three years of experience working in ID consultancies has enabled me to conceptualise clients ideas, tailoring them to their vision or requirement, and allowed me to establish my award-winning portfolio.

About Me

In order to solve a problem or tackle a task, I believe it helps to have a large toolbox of past experience to draw from. A first class degree in Industrial Design prepared and inspired me to explore new and unfamiliar challenges. To date, I have spent my professional life gaining experience in a broad range of disciplines, including industrial and mechanical design and manufacture, to provide me with the confidence to tackle any task presented. My recent experience in the world of feature-film Special Effects has allowed me to implement existing skills and develop many new technical ones while working within a team of talented engineers and craftsmen.

Thank you for getting in touch. I will get back to you very soon.

In 2012 I graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a First Class Honours Degree in Product Design BSc (Bachelor of Science) and a Diploma in Professional Practice.

After being chosen to exhibit my Major Study Project at the coveted New Designers exhibition in London and featuring in the October 2012 issue of ICON magazine, I was asked to join HJC Design. HJC is the design consultancy in Yorkshire where I had spent the 3rd year of my degree course on placement.

Within six months, Frozen Fish Design - a specialist design and in-house manufacturing company in London, offered me a highly competitive job as the principal Industrial Designer at the company.

In 2014 I moved to Vancouver to take a job working in Special Effects. My first feature film was the Steven Spielberg production of The BFG. Following this, in 2015, I worked on the third installment of the re-booted Planet of the Apes franchise (War for the Planet of the Apes) directed by Matthew Reeves.

While working in Vancouver, I also took on projects for Form 3 Design - the largest Industrial Design consultancy in Western Canada. I was employed on a contract basis to pick up and progress projects which were beyond the capacity of the existing team.

I have now returned to UK to work full-time. I am also now a member of the Institution of Engineering Designers (IED).

GRAPHIC DESIGN
Throughout my work, in education and professional practice, I have been able to develop a creative appreciation for the principles of graphic design. I have found this ensures a rounded approach when embarking on a diverse range of projects. A strong ability in using the Adobe Creative Suite has equipped me with important presentation and promotional skills.
