I developed a new emergency pull cord lens for Chubb Systems to replace their existing product. The system was intended primarily for use within care homes to provide a clear alarm to nurses or carers if a patient was in difficulty. Firstly, I reverse engineered the existing components (the pattress box and top housing) before drafting a number of concepts for the lens. With the selection of the preferred concept, I developed the design into a mass manufactured product.
